Why I created the toolkit

It started with a simple realization:
I don’t need to be naturally talented to keep improving.

For a long time, it was easy for me to think of good teaching as something you either had or you didn't.


Some people seemed naturally conversational. They knew what questions to ask, how to explain a scripture simply, and what to say next.

But I started looking at the ministry differently. Instead of asking, "Am I good at this?" I could ask, "What can I learn from this?"

That small shift opened up so many possibilities.

  • I could reflect on conversations instead of simply judging whether they went well.
  • I could notice what helped me connect with someone.
  • I could practise questions.
  • I could write down scriptures. 
  • I wanted to become more comfortable using.
  • I could learn from difficult experiences instead of letting them discourage me.
  • I could celebrate small signs of growth.

So I began creating pages and little tools that helped me do exactly that.

    Yes. You don't need any journaling experience or artistic ability. The pages give you prompts and direction, so you can simply start with the sections that interest you.
  • Do I need to complete the whole Toolkit?
    Not at all. Think of it as a collection of tools rather than a course. Choose what would help you most right now and return to other pages when you need them.
  • How much time do I need?
    As little or as much as you'd like. You could spend a few minutes choosing one action step before the ministry or enjoy a longer journaling session when you have more time.
  • Is this supposed to replace my regular spiritual study?
    No. The Toolkit is a creative companion designed to help you reflect on and practically apply what you're already learning from the Bible and our publications.
  • Do I need to be creative?
    No artistic talent is required. The creative elements are there simply to make reflection enjoyable. You can write, colour, cut, paste, doodle, or skip the decorative elements entirely.
  • Is this a physical product?
    No. The Creative Ministry Toolkit is a digital download. You will receive the files digitally and can print the pages you want to use at home.
  • Can I reuse the pages?
    Yes. Keep your original digital files and reprint individual pages when you would like to work through them again.
